If chocolate-chip banana muffins had a fabulous big sister, this cake would be it. To show off a little, we draped the cake with lace, dusted it with icing powder and lifted the fabric to reveal the pattern.
2 cups white sugar
1 3/4 cups flour
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 large eggs
1 cup mashed bananas
1 cup warm water
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)
2 tsp vanilla
Preheat oven to 350˚F.
Grease a 9-by-13-inch pan, and set it aside.
Add all the dry ingredients to one large bowl, and mix them together. Next, add all the wet ingredients to a second large bowl, and mix them together too.
Add the wet mixture to the dry mixture, and stir until combine. Pour the batter into your greased pan, and bake for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool on a wire rack, and dust with icing powder.
